Bay Shore’s first MLK Jr Day of Service is right around the corner!
MLK Jr. Day of Service @ Bay Shore Lutheran Church
Monday, January 17, 2022
10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
We need volunteers of all ages and abilities – including children! The event will be open to members of our congregation and community and will benefit Milwaukee area non-profit organizations that serve disadvantaged community members. We have a variety of volunteer jobs ranging from helping to organize supplies in the week before the event, helping to serve lunch to volunteers, and helping to direct visitors around the church.
The church will be set up with 7-9 hands-on hands-on projects, including: pantry staples kits, snack packs for kids, greeting cards for seniors and adults with disabilities, and sandwiches for folks who are food insecure. Each station will have an educational component, to help volunteers appreciate the impact of their work.

In addition to volunteering, we will be asking the congregation to consider donating supplies and/or monetary donations, as well as participating in the event. Watch future Beacons for more information in the weeks ahead. Questions now? Please connect with our Church Office and our chair, Julie Murphy.
Note: We are unable to provide child care at this event. Volunteers aged 14 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
