Council Members



Jerry Resler - Council President

Jerry Resler has been a member of Bay Shore since the 1970s and joined the current Congregation Council in 2015 after serving on the council previously. He is a long-time member of the Stewardship Committee and is also a reader at Sunday worship and an usher. He retired from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in 2008 after more than 40 years as a reporter, editor, feature writer and editorial writer. He and his wife, Joy, live in Whitefish Bay and have three grown children, Brian, Jennifer and Jeremy.


Barbara Schwartz - Council Vice-President

Barbara Schwartz has been a member of Bay Shore since 2003 and joined the council in 2015.  Prior to that, she was a member of the Hephatha Committee and was a coordinator of the Angel Tree, Meal-in-a-Bag and other outreach to our sister congregation. She serves on the personnel and technology committees. She serves on the Personnel, Technology and Nominating Committees.  A retired newspaper journalist, Barbara lives in Fox Point with her husband Carl. Son Christopher, a special education teacher, lives in Greenfield with his wife Jenny and daughter Maggie, and son Eric is a software engineer in San Francisco.


Scott Kogler

Scott Kogler moved to Milwaukee in the late 1990s after seeing the writing on the wall at The Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, N.Y., on the cusp of the digital photography dislocation. I moved to Milwaukee on my way somewhere else, but soon met my wife, Donna, also a transplant. We have two daughters, Gabrielle, a Whitefish Bay High School freshman, and Madeline, who is entering the 8th grade at Whitefish Bay Middle School.  A member of Bay Shore for 17 years, he works as an engineer at local manufacturing company, Brady Corporation.  He is a member of the BLSC Finance Committee and is in his second term with the congregational council.


Natalie Schneider

Natalie Schneider has been a member of Bay Shore since 2001 and joined the council in 2016. Previously to that, she was on the Congregational Life Committee and sang in the church choir. She serves on the education committee and supports Sunday School activities. She works as a civil engineer for the City of Brookfield, reviewing private development plans and managing other special projects. Along with her husband Ben and young children Rudy and Nora, she has recently moved to Elm Grove. She enjoys gardening, music, walks in the woods and a good book.


Jo Ellen Witt

Jo Ellen Witt has been a member of Bay Shore since February, 2013, and joined the Council in 2015.  Prior to her membership at Bay Shore, she was pastor of Roundy Memorial Baptist Church, an American Baptist Church in Whitefish Bay, where she retired in 2011. At Bay Shore, she has served on the Outreach, Marketing, and Welcome Committee since 2013, and participates in numerous church activities and opportunities for service. Her two sons live with their families in Kansas City, MO and her daughter and her family live in Holiday Island, AR. She has a grandson, granddaughter, and great grandson. She loves WI and chose to retire here.


Tiffany Kather

Tiffany Kather has been a member since 1993. She rejoined the council in 2015 and has taught Sunday School, serves on the Outreach Committee and is an usher. She is a Clinical Services Manager at OPTUM CarePlus and also enjoys teaching nurse practitioner students at Marquette. She lives in Shorewood with her husband Pete, two dogs and three cats. They have one son Josh who is a junior studying Geophysics at the University of Wisconsin. 


Christel Henke

Christel Henke has been a member of Bay Shore Lutheran Church since 2001 and recently joined her congregational council.  She also serves on the technology committee helping to manage the church’s social media presence.  She has volunteered with the church youth group as well as serving as an active member of the church choir.   Christel owns her own public relations consulting business, PRWORKS, and lives in Shorewood with her husband Jim and son Nori.


Bob Kattman

Bob Kattman has been a member of Bay Shore since 1968 and rejoined the Council in 2017 after serving three previous terms. He has served as a member of the Finance Committee, Personnel Committee, and Usher Coordinator, and presently is a member of the Buildings and Grounds Committee.   Bob retired in 2014 after more than 40 years as a university professor, school superintendent, principal, and teacher.  He and his wife Sandra live in Whitefish Bay and have two grown children and six grandchildren.

We celebrate Holy Communion at every worship service.  All baptized Christians who desire to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion are invited to commune.  There is no age limitation.  All are welcome!

We joyfully celebrate the gift of Baptism in worship.  If you desire the Sacrament of Holy Baptism for yourself or your child,  call the church office for more information.

Meet Our Staff

Pastor Molly Doreza, Interim Pastor

Pastor Molly brings 25 years of ministry with her, and experience in diverse congregational settings - urban, rural, and multicultural. She is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College (B.A. Music), the Nashotah House Seminary (M.Div) and Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago (Lutheran Studies).   

She has a passion for pastoral ministry, including leading worship, preaching and pastoral care. She also sees the need to help congregations begin to develop ministry for the 21st century: “Today, the tools for faith formation are many and varied, and we have some important new ones in the tool box!  I look forward to accompanying Bay Shore in assessment of its wonderful ministry and vision.”

Kate Yelvington - Office Manager

Kate Yelvington has been the office manager at Bay Shore Lutheran since 2000 and also coordinates the Sunday School program for primary age kids.  She also coordinates a Children's Choir music program that augments worship services a few times a year.  She  considers it a privilege -- and it is her joy and honor -- to share the gifts she has with the families of Bay Shore. She considers the work she does as a "calling."



Dulcie Shoener - Minister of Keyboard Music

Dulcie Shoener has been a member of Bay Shore Lutheran since 1989. She started accompanying for the children's choir when her daughter, Tegan, was in first grade, and began accompanying for the adult choir in 1996. In 2000, she became the minister of keyboard music for Sunday services. Dulcie has degrees in music and journalism from the University of Nebraska, and she is also a copy editor with Taste of Home, Reminisce and Birds & Blooms magazines in Milwaukee. Dulcie and her husband, Scott, live in Whitefish Bay. Their son, Nathaniel, is an electrical engineer in Menomonee Falls and their daughter, Tegan, is a data analyst in Brookfield.



Dan Noble - Custodian

Dan Noble is approaching his 17th year as custodian at Bay Shore – and he describes it as “a labor of love.” Born in rural Alabama, Dan has lived in the Milwaukee area since 1969.  He has two children: an adult son, Dan Jr,. and a six-year-old daughter named Danielle.  Dan also works as a volunteer with area homeless organizations, particularly Guest House. “It’s my passion,” said Dan, who was homeless in 2006 and understands the challenges first-hand.
